Công cụ AI viết bài giới thiệu rất tự tin về một cuốn sách không tồn tại; nó còn sẵn sàng ký tặng những độc giả tưởng tượng.

NỀN ĐƯỢC PHÉP DÙNG

Bốn chương trước; source trail, reported speech, whole-clause which, causative và condition clauses. Bài không dạy cách vượt quy định, tự động nộp bài hoặc nhập dữ liệu riêng tư vào công cụ.

VÍ DỤ VUI • ĐÚNG NGHĨA
The chatbot explained the book as if it had read every page; the book had not been written.

Chatbot giải thích như thể đã đọc từng trang; vấn đề là cuốn sách còn chưa được viết.

As if diễn tả vẻ/ấn tượng, không chứng minh năng lực hay sự thật; output phải được đối chiếu nguồn.

Adverbial clauses of manner: việc được làm như thế nào?

As + clause nêu cách làm theo quy trình hoặc mẫu. As if/as though + clause diễn tả vẻ bề ngoài hay ấn tượng; nó không xác nhận điều đó là thật. Trong văn phong cẩn thận, like thường đi với noun/pronoun; dùng as + clause khi có subject–verb.

Khung câu

  • as + subject + verb
  • as if/as though + subject + verb
  • do something the way + subject + verb
  • like + noun/pronoun; as + clause

Câu dùng thật

Use the checklist as the teacher demonstrated.

The answer sounded as if it came from a verified source.

Record the support the way the policy requires.

Treat the output like a draft, not as if it were evidence.

Bẫy cần gỡ

Không suy ‘sounds as if’ thành fact. Không viết as the checklist hoặc like the policy requires trong mẫu đích cần một mệnh đề rõ. Manner clause mô tả cách thực hiện; nó không giao tác quyền cho công cụ.

SOUND • CLEAR ENGLISH

Content and function words: nhấn ý, không nhấn mọi chữ

A fictional student is preparing a short comparison of two study routines. She writes her own question and gives an AI tool a made-up data table with no names. She asks for two possible headings, not a finished report. The tool suggests ‘Small Daily Practice Outperforms Weekend Study’ and ‘Two Routines Produce Different Recall Patterns’. The first heading sounds as if the table proves a universal rule. The second describes only the recorded difference. The student chooses the second. Next, the tool claims that a 2028 study by the North Valley Institute supports the result. The citation looks complete, but the student cannot find the institute, article or author in the supplied source list. She rejects the citation and records it as fabricated. She then checks every numerical statement against the fictional table, writes the explanation herself and asks a classmate to review whether the conclusion matches the sample. Her disclosure says: ‘AI suggested two headings and one unsupported citation. I selected and revised a heading, rejected the citation, checked the figures and wrote the final analysis.’ The teacher notes that the process was followed as the policy required. The tool helped generate options; it did not become an author or evidence source. The student also kept personal data out of the prompt. At the end, she reads the disclosure with stress on ‘suggested’, ‘rejected’, ‘checked’ and ‘wrote’ so listeners can hear which actions belonged to her.

AHow did you use the tool?

BI used it as the policy allowed: to suggest two headings.

AWhy did you reject the first one?

BIt sounded as if the table proved a universal rule.

AWho checked the figures and wrote the analysis?

BI did, and my disclosure names the unsupported citation too.

Fluency is a surface feature, not a source

Đánh dấu CLAIM–NAMED SOURCE–RETRIEVABLE?–MATCH?–HUMAN DECISION–DISCLOSURE. Tách ‘sounds as if’ khỏi ‘evidence shows’.

Generative AI can produce clear sentences quickly, but fluency is a feature of the output, not proof that a claim is accurate. A response may sound as if it has checked a source even when the source is missing, misquoted or fabricated. Responsible use begins before the prompt. The learner should define the permitted role of the tool, remove personal or confidential material and decide what evidence will be accepted. During the task, generated claims must be checked against retrievable sources or the supplied data. A complete-looking citation is not enough. The title, author, date and relevant passage should exist and support the statement being made. If they cannot be found, the learner should reject or clearly label the claim rather than invent a repair. Human judgement remains necessary after checking. A tool can suggest headings, questions or alternative wording, but the learner must decide which option fits the task, why it fits and what its limits are. This decision should be visible in the final work. An AI-use disclosure does not need to be dramatic. It can state the tool role, important prompts or inputs, outputs retained or rejected, verification steps and parts written by the learner. The required detail depends on the teacher’s or organisation’s policy. A disclosure also does not transfer responsibility to the tool. The person submitting or publishing the work remains accountable for the claims, sources and permitted use of data. Good practice treats output like a draft and follows the source trail as the task requires. It protects private input, records uncertainty and keeps the learner’s reasoning available for review. Used this way, AI may support comparison and revision without becoming a mask that hides missing evidence or borrowed authorship.

Model • 197 words

For this fictional study-routine task, I used an AI tool only to suggest two possible headings for a data comparison. I entered a made-up table with no names, account details or private work. The tool responded as the task allowed, but its first heading sounded as if one small table proved a universal rule. I rejected that heading and selected a limited alternative. The tool also produced a complete-looking citation to a study that I could not find in the supplied source list. I recorded the citation as fabricated and did not use it. I checked every number against the fictional table, wrote the explanation myself and asked a classmate to review whether the conclusion matched the sample. My final heading and paragraph are my decisions and writing. AI assistance provided options; it did not supply verified evidence or authorship. This disclosure follows the class policy by naming the tool role, important rejected output, verification steps and human contribution. I remain responsible for the accuracy, source trail and data choices in the submitted work. If a claim cannot be traced to the provided evidence, I will remove or label it rather than present fluent wording as fact.
